UPDATE 2: Republicans support compassionate abortion.  A compassionate abortion is performed before the embryo becomes a person and is performed to save the life of the mother and/or because of rape and/or incest.  ¶ Note that in the Bible physical substance of Adam was created before the person of Adam. Embryo is created before the person. ¶ Note that in the Bible the brain of Adam was created before the person of Adam. The brain is created before the person. ¶ In order to become a person an embryo must begin to think or dream.  In order to think or dream an embryo must have an active brain (and, therefore, must have a brain).  All of this is proven by the fact that when a person is “brain dead,” which includes no thinking and no dreaming, they are dead (no longer a person in this world) and an embryo without a brain is, IN EFFECT (NOT ACTUALLY), brain dead; that is, not a person. ¶ Finally, note that in the Bible an embryo became a person well before they were born (Luke 1: “…the sixth month with her…the babe leaped…for joy.”).
